Work and the Glory American Zion
Work and the Glory American Zion Movie images...These are the actors that play Joseph Smith (right) and Brigham Young (left). I have never imagined Brigham being so young. We just never see pictures of him in his younger years. I don't know the actors names so someone please fill in the blanks.
This is Joseph Smith (left)& the fictional Character Joshua Steed (right). Tammy thinks that Joshua Steed is a stud just like me.
We went to the 2nd movie in the Work and the Glory series last evening with G Hobbs and her lady friend. Question for you? Do I really look like a senior citizen? G Hobbs'friend is at least 20 years older than myself. She was ahead of me in line to purchase a ticket. She was automatically given the senior citizen discount of $5.50. When I approaced the window with Tammy the ticket agent automatically charged us $6.00. No, problem right? Well not so fast.....grandma's friend turned to me and said, "They automatically gave me the discount, but how come they didn't even ask you." Now that kinda hurt.......!! Oh well, I'm approaching it.
Then after the movie we are driving home past the temple and Tammy asks, "Did you see that?"
"No," I said. What was it?
"There is a man walking down the sidewalk playing a violin." No, way, "I said."
So, I turned the car around and headed back to see. Lo & behold there was an older man walking down the sidewalk in front of the temple playing a violin. He had a backback on and was walking rather briskly. I rolled down my window just to make sure I was'nt seeing things and...... sure enough I heard the fiddle. Now mind you, it was dark outside. The funny part is that grandma said, "Yeah, that's brother Haroldsen. He is in my ward!"
Can you believe that! We saw a real fiddler on the roof. But...........that's not all.
Later that night we need to go to Wal Mart to pick up a remote control for grandma and to find some curtain string to fix her kitchen curtain. On the way out of the store (at about 8:30 p.m.) this older gentleman pulls up to the front door of Wal Mart on his bicycle carrying (2) fishing poles. It's pitch black outside in the middle of I.F. and this guys going fishing. Does it sound strange? or is it just us? Just looked funny and seemed strange. Tammy and I laughed hard.
Hope all is going well this weekend.
P.S. The 2nd installment of the Work & the Glory was okay. It was not quite what I expected. I'm thinking it would be hard to play the part of Joseph Smith. I really didn't like the person playing is part that much. It was weird seeing Brigham Young so "young" in this movie.
There is another church movie playing called Mobsters and Mormons..........anybody seen it yet?(yeah right seeings how you all live in the middle of mormon country, stupid question) Grandma Hobbs says that it is hilarious.

The funniest thing about this post was that when I read about the guy on the bicycle with the fishing poles I totally had to think about why that was funny or weird. Hahah! We are so used to seeing people lugging all kinds of things on scooters or bikes that I'm getting used to it. The other day I saw this guy riding his scooter with groceries where the feet go, and a HUGE dog...probably a golden retriever or something along those lines, riding on top of the groceries. It was so funny. The poor dog was so big that it really had to work to stay on the stack of groceries.
Dad -- I think that weird things just gravitate to you.
