Slice and Dice

So, I end up in Home Depot yesterday to buy a new lawn mower. I found this deal on last year's model for $239.00, which last year sold for $400.00. They only had 2 of them so I thought I better jump at the opportunity. Of course there was not a sales associate to get it down for me; at least, I couldn't see one in the immediate vicinity. What did I do? I did the only reasonable thing that anyone would do! I lifted it up and set it on the floor. What I failed to do first was check the underside of the edges, which were razor sharp. When I realized this, it was too late. I didn't want to drop the mower so I placed it in the isle. The bleeding was horrific especially coming from my middle finger. I found a sales associate who passed out at the site of my blood. An hour later I was able to leave the store with a first aid fix that was a joke.

So far, I have refused to go to the hospital for a stitch. However, don't worry as the band aides wrapped tightly around my fingers seem to be doing the trick.

This is the culprit. It is now located safe and securely in my garage. The new bag has been broke in with a few blood stains.

I got this lawnmower because the old one broke down and was going to cost me over $200.00 to repair. The drive mechanism was bad and....... well, that story is best saved for another day.

At the least I was very irritated by the repairman at Mr. Mower. Idaho people--BEWARE of that place.

Later fans, or as Madison calls me, the Grandpa without a horse. I'm thinking a better get one of those too.

That is so funny and GROSS! Now that's a man after my own heart...even when bleeding to death doesn't leave a good deal behind!!

Oh dear Dad....I can't believe it. How many Home Depot stories do you have? I think this one is the best one and grossest. IS that a word? Mom said you needed stitches. I hope you have those bandages tight, but not too tight. I don't want to see you losing any fingers.

Wow, sorry to hear about your injuries Dan. Reminds me of what happened to one of my fingers last month:
I was cutting a cube of butter with a new BUTTER KNIFE, holding the butter in one hand and cutting it with the other. The knife went all the way through the butter and continued through my finger! I couldn't believe I got such a deep gash with a stupid butter knife!
Sam and Mike did their emergency work on the finger but the blood wouldn't stop coming and they were just making a big mess all over me and the kitchen counter.
Mike ended up running to the store for some super glue! That was the only thing that at least half way worked to get the bleeding to stop so they could bandage my finger!!
Sure hope your fingers heal soon!
