The upper right two windows are in the room where section 76 was received. This is the John Johnson farm. It is about an hour drive from Kirtland, but well worth the visit. The lower left window is where the bedroom was the Emma and Joseph used while staying with the Johnson's. It was from this room that Jospeh was pulled by an angry mob during the middle of the night. After suffering this painful ordeal he delivered a sermon the next day and two people where baptised. His example shows his stamina and how we need to perservere even during difficult times.
My favorite place.......this and the temple site.

We weren't expecting such frequent updates while you're away from Travis and Melanie's, but it's cool to read about everything you're experiencing. We'd really like to take a trip like the one you're on someday.
Keep it coming!
I guess sometime next year, Melanie and I will have to drive out to Kirtland. We never realized it was only 6 hours from us. Maybe we can stop and spend a few nights there and then go to Nauvoo.
The reason for the frequent post is that all of the motels have internet connections and it is a way for me to keep a small journal of what we are doing while at the same time share it with you'all.
Love you,
dad
