Putting in a sprinkler system

Yes, I finally have had enough. After several summers of Tammy promising to water the plants in the pots on the deck I have decided that it is not worth it to brawl about it anymore. I gave in and planted the pots knowing full well that the watering would be left up to me. However, now the problem has been solved! Last week I spent time putting in a miniature sprinkler system. I grafted a ¼ inch tube into a sprinkler head and ran it up the wooden boards that support the railing for the handrail on the desk. Next, I meticulously ran the line into each of the pots on the deck and terminated the connection in each pot with a miniature sprinkler head. It looks so cute and runs great. Now, we do not have to ask Cory and Angie to come and water the plants when we leave for a few days. Also, next week I will be doing the same thing for the pots on the front steps. I can’t believe that I am putting in endless hours just so I will not need to drag a hose around the yard. This system is called a “drip irrigation” system and has been around for years. I just didn’t know about it. The secret is out! I’ll try to remember to post a picture next week sometime.

OH! Cory's shed looks great. The cement pad turned out better than expected (especially the cost) and the shed is awesome. It sure was a pain in the *#^&&! to put together and included a zillion +1 screws. It was worth the effort though and will be very nice.

Gotta go----------I have to give the spirtual thought in Bishopric meeting tomorrow morning.

My dad has a drip irrigation system in his garden. He used to get really mad if we weren't watching what we were doing and accidently hit it with a shovel. haha I think Grant also did some damage to his drip irrigation when we were out there in January. But of course since it was Grant, my dad didn't get mad. haha

That new drip irrigation system is pretty cool, especially with the little adjustable heads. I might just have to take the plunge and go that route for my "garden."

Ahh, you should move to Virginia where it rains so much, we never have to water!! Our tomatoes are going to be awesome this year. And the weeds in our lawn are thriving.

I always watered the flowers. It was just that everytime I went give the plants some water, Dan had already done it. Now it is even better because I don't even have to think about it.
