The girls playing in the Kitchen at Jenni and Ted's Place
We had a great time in Albuquerque last week on spring break. Jenni, Ted, and the girls look very good and it was wonderful to be able to see them again. We spent most of the time just hanging out and eating. They live in a very nice apartment and the new leather sofa that they purchased is very good looking. Tammy and I slept on an air mattress in the front room while Angie and Cory stayed at Mike and Cel's place. We were able to play with Abby and Juliette and they sure are growing up fast. The trip down was uneventful, but coming home we ran into a snow covered floor in Monticello, Utah. Now that was unexpected and a little scary, but it only last for about a 1/2 hour or so and then it was rainey on and off the whole trip. It is a 13 hour drive from our place it you only stop for gas and to eat lunch.
Here is a link to the pictures that we took while in Albuquerque. We also had a chance to visit a little with Mike and Cel. We visited with Sam on Thursday evening for a while and then he left on Friday for a choir tour. Jared and Jenny are looking mighty fine and Jenny is improving her English skills. She has a very fun personality.
When we were in Las Vegas last month Tammy spent time collecting the bead necklaces that they give out at some of the casinos. She took them with us to give to Abby and Juliette. Thay seemed to like them alot. It was funny that there was only one purple one in the group and the girls picked up on that quickly, as they both wanted the purple necklace.
We also were able to take the girls to McDonalds. It was very fun for us to see the grandchildren play on the equipment. We let the girls play for about an hour and then Abby came up to us and told us that it was time to eat. We bought the kids happy meal and the figure (toy) that was in the box was the guy from the incredibles. Juliette found a friend there who was also named Juliette. She spent time helping little Juliette go down the slide and play on the equipment. It was fun to watch them and hear Juliette's laugh. She has a funny laugh that really makes eveyone around her want to hear it and we all laughed with her.
Now here is something interesting. Jenni has a painting of some flowers hanging on the living room wall. I thought that it was very beautiful and asked her where she had purchased it. Come to find out she painted it. It was very large (about 3 by 3 ft) I'm guessing. Regardless, as I quizzed her about the picture I found out that it really wasn't a canvas painting, but had been painted on a piece of wood. Now catch this------it was the dining room table. She had taken the legs off of a small table that they had and painted a beautiful picture on it. You can see the picture of it in the picture link that goes with this posting. This digital picture does not do it justice as it was very very nice. Leave it to Jenni! Great job Jen! I wish you all could have seen it.
It was a great trip and was very nice to see everyone. Ted seems to be doing good in his job. I was able to tour his office and was very impressed by how nice it was. The security is pretty tight there, but I suppose that is necessary with all that is happening in the world today. On Saturday I spent some time with all of the guys shopping at all the electronic stores we could think of visiting. It was fun, but we didn't purchase anything. That evening we had pizza and played a few games before heading off to bed-------dreading the next morning getting up at 4:45 a.m.
Well, I'll write more later.
